Shutting and deinstalling my "protection" software didn't help either.I've got the same issue.

I got the latest version as far as I know, installed it 1.5 weeks ago on a fresh installation of windows 7 build 7600. Fine-tuned for speed, RAR Extractor works quickly without consuming a lot of memory or hard drive space.
